Jeff Beck is one of the all time great guitarists.
He is very innovative and his grooves are somewhat complex at times. So, I would say it would be worth your while to go.
Hell....I'd love to go there...just to go there.

In fact, I'm trying to figure out who to talk to about booking a small tour over there.
Now, don't laugh, but I have a rather slamming cover band that plays Funk/Rock/R&B. We take tunes and make them our own (in a way). Anyway, I thought that the Japanese would love this stuff and that it would be cool to do a small tour over there.
Anybody know who I could contact?

And from what I hear, Japanese love ALL music from North America. Whether it's dead or "has been" here, they love it. Lots of 80s "hair bands" are still big there. My brother plays in a disco band and when they go there it's a craze. There's also a pianist in my area (John Tesh-type) that sells thousands of records there, where he only sells a few here. When he tours, it's in Japan.

I spoke to my dad, and i think we are going to go for the weekend...its about a 5 hour flight and then we are going to watch the saturday and sunday shows!
I checked out some of Jeff Beck's stuff on amazon and it seems pretty awesome! I especially liked blow, i should email them and ask which mucis he will be playing (just a specific album) or if it will be like all kinds of music!
Anyways, the only problem is now i have to get one of my japanese friends to read the website

it seems that that website is the organiser for a lot of stuff in japan because to get tickets for ANY of the jeff beck shows it is done through there and i see they are advertising other artists.

Ever since i heard the blue note tokyo gig i've been saying to myself that next Vinnie came around this area i would fly over to see him! Well, i just looked on his site and his touring with Jeff Beck in Japan this July and i think i have just enough money to pay to go out there!!!
I want to know first though, is it a worthwhile gig to go to, will Vinnie be blowing? Im not familiar with Jeff Beck's music so ANY help would be appreciated! But man im just excited to see Vinnie live, anything else is a plus

I was just thinking that it will be better to attend the 2 nights in Osaka cos then the band will be more familiar with eachother and the music.
It's going to be tough to book tickets though cos the website is all in japanese
I'm going to try and call them tmrw though!

Well, my dad said i gotta choose between going to Japan to see the Jeff beck show or coming to L.A in august :|
Right now im leaning towards seeing Vinnie, because it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity but if he was going to play Live in L.A then i would for sure come to L.A.
Tough decision. Make sure you find out if Vinnie is performing during your possible stay in LA. I would go there if he is, because you will also get a chance to see so many other great drummers.
